The Doors

The Doors were without a doubt the most rebelious group of the sixties. Their music, consisting of Jim Morrison's poetic lyrics, Robbie Krieger's slick guitar licks, Ray Manzarek's incredible pianist ability and John Densmore's somewhat monotonous drumming came together to form one of the most creative bands of all time. Though the lyrics may have been a little violent and based on sex at times, the band was looked upon as heroes by the younger generations. The poetic songs of Jim Morrison will always be looked at as creative and inspirational. The band lived a high life during the five years of their success, unfortunately this is also what turned Jim Morrison into an overweight grungy alcoholic, and eventually killed him. His death was a mystery to everyone, though many believe he may have drank himself to death. Still, the music of The Doors is considered some of the most original rock music ever.
